Healthy Lips are a Big Deal with Mint Condition Lip Balm

The Biggest News for Dry Lips

Lip balm lovers, this news is for you! Lots of lip balms contain good ingredients to help condition and nourish lips, but often they’re blended with bad ingredients that, personally, we wouldn’t want anywhere close to our kisser. Read on to see what’s inside (and what isn’t inside) Perfectly Posh Mint Condition™ Mega Lip Balm.

Beneficial Ingredients in Mint Condition

Sustainably Sourced Shea Butter. From our Shea Sisterhood Co-op in Ghana, this nourishing ingredient has been used for centuries to protect lips from the elements and transform dry lips.

Macadamia Oil. Rich in nourishing fatty acids, macadamia oil softens lips and helps prevent moisture loss, especially prevalent in the thin and delicate skin that comprises your lip area.

Sweet Almond Oil. This emollient ingredient absorbs quickly to make lips look smoother and more supple without feeling heavy or sticky.

Beeswax. Beeswax works both as a humectant, drawing moisture to the surface of your lips, as well as an occlusive, creating a non-comedogenic barrier to lock in moisture.

Cocoa Butter. With an incredibly high amount of antioxidants, cocoa butter works to reverse damage to lips while deeply moisturizing for a healthier looking pout.

Peppermint. Due to its high menthol content, peppermint feels soothing on dry, chapped lips and delivers a cooling sensation. (Plus, it tastes great!)

Oil vs. Butter

Mint Condition Mega Lip Balm contains both oils and butters. What’s the difference? Oils absorb faster for immediate soothing, while butters absorb more slowly for longer lasting results. Ever feel like you’re constantly reapplying your lip balm? Check the label. Chances are it’s full of oils, but no butters. Plus, butters have a higher melting point than oil, so if you have both in your lip balm, you’re less likely to find a melty mess at the bottom of your bag on a hot day.

3 Ingredients we never use

  • Lanolin

Derived from sheep’s wool, lanolin can be toxic when ingested.

  • Petroleum/Petrolatum

Derived from crude oil, a nonrenewable resource.

  • Mineral Oil

Keeps your lips from breathing, which can make them drier over time.

To use Mint Condition Mega Lip Balm, apply generously to lips as needed. For extra healthy looking lips, we recommend exfoliating with gentle Makeout Magic™ Sugar Lip Scrub first, and treating yourself to Night Nurse™ Nourishing Lip Treatment a few nights a week before bed.
