Love yourself first, and everything else falls in line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.
— Lucille Ball

Self care is hot right now—we should know; it’s pretty much the heart of our brand. But it’s way more than just a 2019 trend. It’s a way of life. And while it may be the buzzword of the moment, “me time” is nothing new. We’re just learning more about why it’s so important.

So what exactly is self care?

We say it’s what makes you the happiest version of yourself, it’s loving yourself, it’s knowing what triggers your stress, it’s tuning in with yourself daily, it’s creating space for healing, it’s taking care of every part of you (including what you eat). It’s getting enough sleep and exercise, it’s scheduling all your doctors appointments, it’s spending time with loved ones, finding quiet places for yoga and meditation, it’s doing things that bring you pleasure, doing things that help you relax, and doing things that make you laugh. And self care isn’t selfish. If you don’t take care of yourself, how can you take care of anyone else?
