Posh Cares: How We Gave Back in 2018
You might be familiar with Perfectly Posh as a pampering brand with naturally based products, but did you know that we also believe pampering goes beyond products and are dedicated to working with communities, both local and global, to lend a helping hand, showing everyone they deserve to be pampered.
Here’s a recap of how we’ve been giving back in 2018:
Keep Palm & Posh On Initiative
Partnered with the charitable arm of Perfectly Posh, You Deserve It Foundation, we worked with our customers, Consultants, Consultant Support, and Home Office teams to raise over $40,000 this spring for infant formula to feed children in Coatapeque, Guatemala, home to AgroAmerica, the company who produces the sustainably sourced palm oil for our Posh products.
The Bolanos brothers who own AgroAmerica provide a medical clinic in Coatapeque. The infant formula SIMILAC is used at the clinic to supplement the diets of all babies under 4 years of age who visit the AgroAmerica health clinic. Proper nutrition sets them up for a better life in their remote area of Guatemala. In a place where there’s little indoor plumbing, education, medical care, and nutritional awareness, we saw an opportunity to help.
Project DR: Build a Bike
In April, we took some of our hardest-working Consultants on an incentive trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, but it wasn’t all Caribbean breezes and cocktails; they also spent a day with local kids building bikes.
We partnered with a local orphanage to buy bikes for 23 boys and girls on the island. At $90 each, we asked our amazing leaders if they would be willing to raise money and check out of vacation mode to build… and they did that and MORE. In addition to the bikes, our incredible Consultants raised over $10,000 to benefit children in the Dominican.
Shea Sisterhood Co-Op
Ann Dalton, Perfectly Posh Founder & CEO, travelled to Ghana this summer to meet with some of the women who produce our shea butter. These women are part of the Global Shea Alliance, a co-op of shea producers we partnered with this year, and are just some of the women who source our shea across the African Savanna.
We are now in the process of upgrading all of our shea-containing products to versions that contain sustainably sourced shea butter. $1 of each sale of Always Ghana Love You™ Shea Butter Bath Bar, which contains 25% shea butter—all of it sustainably sourced, goes directly to our new collaboration, The Shea Sisterhood Co-Op. Through it, we’re able to provide funds for tools and shelter that help African women safely and efficiently harvest shea.
The DiVA Project
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. To raise awareness and help pamper survivors, we created The DiVA Project to say, “I can help.” Putting the “i” in Domestic Violence Awareness empowers others to share their stories and learn how to support victims.
We partnered with The Fight Against Domestic Violence, Visible Supply Chain Management, The Alison Show by Alison Faulkner, and You Deserve It Foundation to hit social media with an awareness campaign while also raising funds for Inspiration Bags: kits of pampering Posh products donated by Perfectly Posh paired with shelter essentials, like sheets, diapers, and basic toiletries, for domestic violence shelters across the United States.
Every Veteran’s Day, Posh makes an effort to give back to those who serve. This year we partnered with GallantFew, an organization that works with veterans to help them transition back into civilian life. A portion of our Veteran’s Day proceeds were donated to this organization and their important work helping service men and women feel secure, involved, and confident in their new lives post-military.
On Veteran’s Day, we announced a new program called Posh Salutes that partners with ID.me to provide military active duty, veterans, National Guard, Reservists, and their families with special discounts, as a way of saying thank you for their commitment to our freedom. The program includes the following:
We look forward to another year of giving back and helping everyone feel pampered! If you would like to donate to our charitable arm, You Deserve It Foundation, to support future projects, click here.
