What does it mean to be balanced?

Balance looks different to everyone. Your version of balance might focus more on work life vs. home life, maybe it deals more with health and exercise, maybe it’s more of a mental state.

What if I’m out of balance?

Keeping a calendar or planner helps you stay organized and visually understand how you’re spending your time. Don’t forget to schedule your me time! It’s just as important as meetings, ballet rehearsals, and soccer practices.

Say No

You have 24 hours in a day, and you get to decide how they’re spent. When it comes to requests for your time, if your answer isn’t an enthusiastic “yes!” it should be a “no.” Sure, you’ve got obligations, but if every “yes” you say feels forced, it’s time to have a talk with yourself about whether or not the path you’re on is making you happy.

Lose the Guilt

Don’t feel guilty about taking personal time when you need it or for working harder for the sake of your career. You get to decide what’s important to you, and just because your priorities don’t line up with your sister’s/friend’s/coworker’s doesn’t mean your priorities are wrong.
